    STIHL Easy2Start™ (E)
The STIHL Easy2Start™ system makes starting STIHL outdoor power tools almost effortless, eliminating the need for a strong pull of the starting cord. This advanced starting system is designed to make starting STIHL products easier. The specific system may vary by model, but in each case, a quick pull overcomes the engine’s compression to minimize the strength and effort required to start. Available on selected products.

    Purge Pump Primer
The purge pump primer feature enables the user to prime the carburetor with fuel, enabling easier starting. The purge pump primer is designed in a way that the operator cannot flood the machine by priming the carburetor too many times. Flooding the engine is still possible if the choke is not removed after the engine turns over.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not a great saw for the money ok so im on my second one, the first one lasted about 1 year ran well but had problems from ground problems too the flywheel problem. I did notice when I took it apart that there was almost no wear marks on cylinder. just bought my new one. It has the original chain on it, and it died today. cool little saw for way to much money. these saws have a key built into the flywheel its aluminum and breaks easy. plan to spend a hundo on that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This saw is great Love this light weight saw...Will handle anything.. I have cut trees down 8 inches thick. it's suppose to be a limb saw, but is way more than that... I have to watch my self or I won't pick up my big saw at all... Wife loves how light weight it is and I do aswell.. save your back.. Its a bit pricey, but the first time you use it , you forget how much it was... I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My MS 150 TC-E is a pleasure to use. Now. Fueled up with fresh 89 and STILL premium oil. Filled chain oil tank. Operated primer bulb 3 or 4 times after fuel flowed. Closed choke, set throttle and pulled rope at least 20 times with out so much as a pop. Thought that it could be flooded so I opened the choke and pulled another 20 times. Nothing. Removed spark plug which is a pain and found it to be dry. Grounded spark plug securely against the cylinder to check for spark and could not see any. If starter rope was pulled very fast a feeble spark could be seen. Closed the spark plug gap slightly and re-installed it. Repeated the cold start drill and it started first pull. Let the engine warm up for a couple of minutes. Made sure the chain was being oiled and adjustment was correct and tried to cut with the saw. When the engine was put under a load it would just quit. After re-starting it would quit as soon as the throttle was opened. Since before starting the first time I had adjusted the limited adjustment mixture screws to full rich there was only one thing to do. My experience with CARB approved two stroke equipment is that they don't run. Removed the low speed adjustment limiter cap and adjusted the low speed screw about 1/2 turn further toward rich. Now the saw starts first time every time and runs very well. Two stroke engines, especially small ones are very sensitive to mixture adjustments. Too rich = run bad. Too lean= wont run at all. It is not at all uncommon for changes in air temperature and density to require re-adjustments. The high speed adjustment seems fine. Great saw for trimming and 1/2 the weight of my other 12 inch saw. The quality is very good. Will be surprised if this review is approved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I wanted I am only 35 but my back is shot. I have plenty of bigger stihl saws but I was in pain when I was done all of their products are great but this one is so light it seems like a toy but don't be fooled it can cut wood like crazy not just the limb wood either but what ever the bar will cut it will buzz right through I am very impressed and so very happy at the end of the day my back still hurts but I can at least move and now have a warm house too!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super light cuts anything I need it to. Worked great for hinge cutting trees. Powered through anything I throw at it including hedge. Very light, my bad back never hurts. I have 2 larger Stihl saws that are collecting dust now. I am far from a pro, this saw will do anything I need it to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from big disappointment I purchased this saw new and have been using chainsaws for over 40 years. It has positive attributes but it does not matter if oil cannot travel to the chain. I have almost 2 tanks of mix through the saw and have had 6 delays due to a hot, dry, tight chain. Upon removing the bar I find each time the oil port in the side of the bar is clogged with wood chips, no matter what kind of wood was being cut. I have read of other people reporting the same problem. The solutions vary, angle drilling the bar hole towards the tip, thinning the bar oil to 10 or 20% mineral spirits, or totally using canola oil in place of standard bar oil. It was 60* when I last fought the saw so using winter grade oil will be no advantage. I have ran the saw without the bar and it produced a reasonable "slobber" of bar oil so the pump is functional. I have angle drilled the bar and gained no appreciable difference. Next is altering from standard bar oil.I could like this saw if I find the special pampered procedure but for now it is a grand waste of money and time. It is non functional.Incidentally, for those interested in getting more power from the little engine, I have read recommendations to open up the muffler, advance the timing 6* and re tune.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely light I've had about every climbing saw there is. This is the easiest to you. So light there is no reason for a pruning saw. Going to get a few more

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Carving Saw I got my 150 soon after they came out & I absolutely LOVE it. If you're a chainsaw carver and you don't own one, you're missing out. It comes standard with a quarter-tip carving bar (I also run a dime-tip Oregon bar on mine) so it's ready to carver right out of the gate. And it's so light weight you can carve all day. The worst thing about it is that it makes all of my other saws feel like tanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the most incredible lightweight chainsaw ever made I can't work with anything else. The lightweightness of it, low vibration, confort of the handle, etc makes the work super-easy. Good to go in-tree pruning branches, or cut down your winter firewood providers (trees) with a larger chainsaw, and then slice it to small cuttings with this one all day long if you want without getting tired (be sure to leave the thick slices for the big chainsaw). Good quality chain oil, good chain, and good fuel aditive (stihl is what I use) will last you twice more than other chainsaws. This works fast, precisely and cuts like butter.Another thing I love about this chainsaw, probably easy to miss by some inexperienced users, is the so important brake band. This is very good quality material. I've worked with other makes that break this band quite easily on the slightest hit of the brake bar. On my Stihl it never broke once. The fitting of the cover is supereasy (made in such a manner that you must release the break, otherwise you will not be able to remove it - on other companies, the lid comes of weather you break or not break the chain...and this leads to wear of materials and nuisance). The fact that the blade adjustment screw is on the side and not next to the blade itself, renders the tensioning super-easy. The fact that there is only one nut to screw is awesome. The smooth start is effortless and starts on the first pull (you can start it standing with ease and the chainsaw doesn't move if you grip it well enough - yes, the center of gravity is that good, most chainsaws have the grip behind the engine making standing start impossible, the grip of this one is on top of the engine, so it doesn't move, but for safety purposes, grip it well and clear away). The fuel and oil caps are awesome to work with, even with greasy hands and gloves we can open them without effort. Manual fuel pump is mandatory in my opinion. I find it lacking on other companies chainsaws, this one has it.The muffler is awesome. Not too noisy, and has a good sound to which one can even talk with another, and has really reduced exhaust emission, just like they say.Overhaull...I've worked with 3 or 4 different chainsaw makes, and I never found the quality, sense of security and work simplicity that I found on Stihl. And I can honestly say that my "miniature toothpick cutter" beats out many big bad ones out there. I would never buy any other than Stihl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best limbing saw on the market. It will change how you work Weighs like a handsaw, carving bar makes clean cuts in anything, low exhaust, easy pull even on tc model, and makes life easy. I can make clean cuts on anything from suckers to pruning cuts outside of oak collars. It will change your work. Built solid, runs all day all month strong, and you can move it quick from cut to cut. Will ruin any other saw for you. I've run 200, 201s, t540, t536 Lixp electric. It doesn't beat a 200, but they aren't around anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, light and handy Wow, A great little saw and really easy to use.I at first thought that the gas tank might be a little small but that proved to be false. The engine seems to just sip fuel. For what this saw was designed for the Stihl engineers seemed to have hit their mark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent complement to bigger saw Bought this for limbing downed trees and for up in the trees. It goes well when I'm tired of swinging my MS440 around. So easy to pull start and saws threw good sized limbs with ease. Easy to use from a ladder too. Haven't climbed with it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for in-tree work Bought this saw to clear trees overhanging the house. Very light saw. Hardly notiecable while climbing ropes while having the saw attached to harness. Very easy to start while in treetops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great small saw for climbers! This saw is very light and maybe not as powerful as a 192 but it's a climbing saw.
Date published: 2013-09-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the occasional in-tree arborist. Does the MS 150 have the power of the slightly larger models? No. But its miniscule weight & ease of use more than make up for that. It's so light, I've forgotten it was clipped to my saddle. If all I'm doing is delimbing, this saw is always my first choice. If I'm going to block-down the spar, then I'll take up my MS 192 T.Even if you're not in a tree, I'd recommend the MS 150 T for lots of ground work. Its lighter weight (both in a tree or on the ground) goes a long way in reducing fatigue ... and that means I get more work done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely light weight and powerful My STIHL Dealer told me about the MS150 coming out after the first of the year and I bought one without hesitation. It is remarkably light and very easy to handle. It is ideal for trimming branches and it won't wear you out! The balance is outstanding. The MS 150 is just another example of the HIGH QUALITY you can expect from STIHL!
