Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features The br700x I purchased is so much more quieter because of 4 stroke design , runs at lower rims .I still wear hearing protection.I bought this machine because I have a lot of shrub beds where the leaves get all hung up and needed the extra air speed and volume to make the job easy ! No more hands and knees !the 700x also has an anti vibration hand lever control that helps me with my soriatic arthritis !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality is everything! I bought this Stihl 700 Blower because I already own a Stihl Chainsaw and have been very happy and impressed with it quality. Well its not easy but this Model 700 Blower excedded everything that I expected. Its made in Virginia Beach, Virginia and it makes me feel good to get such a high quality machine that is made right here in the USA. Unless something changes I will never buy anything but a Stihl again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for clean-up of beds and a large lawn!! Like all of my Stihl tools, it starts on the first pull! The BR 700 moves a lot of air but I could use a little more velocity to blow needles from my Alpine Firs and off of my Junipers. Incredible on leaves and other yard debris. The shoulder strap kept falling off of my left shoulder (Maybe my fault in adjusting the harness) so I purchased the optional chest strap...and problem solved! Throw away your hand-held model and buy this backpack version, you won't regret it!! I start it and put it on my workbench or back fence as an aid to strapping it on. Love the temperature adjustment.flyerwj

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blowing rocks I live where there's a lot of snow and have a gravel driveway. Its common to get a lot of the rocks (some are as big as my fist, but most are small) out into the grass from all the bulldozing and blowing of snow over the winter. I just purchased my new BR 700 a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I just blew a lot of the rocks back into the driveway without any problems. I have over 700 feet of drive times 2 sides and it took maybe 1/2 a day. I also recommend using ear protection. I did for the 1st time ever and it made me feel better. The left shoulder strap, even though I had it tight, kept falling off my shoulder so I ordered and optional chest strap. The quality is what I expect. Too early to tell about dependability. Power is great. Value - considering its a Stihl, I know I paid top dollar but I don't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my expectations I have owned Stihl back pack blowers for over 3 decades. This is my 4th one. With only 2-3 tanks of gas through it so far I know it is still early in the assessment. This purchase was to upgrade from my 10 year old BR600 which was still running great.I was very conflicted in choosing between a 600 (more mph) or the 700 (more cfm).Hands down CFM has its merits. The snow is just starting to leave here and in its wake are packed wet oak leaves and twigs and heavy sand where the drive way meets the road. The 700 is quite impressive, it handled everything with results exceeding my old BR600.I was worried about the extra weight, but it isn't noticeable. The large tube moves much easier side to side and the adjustable length is a plus.I know my grass, leaves, dirt and snow cleanups will be faster than before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth paying for extra horsepower! I've had a Stihl 320C backpack blower for 10+ years and it has served me well. Actually, still working great. But, I have 5+ acres and 2+ acres need lots of leaves removed. I just bought my BR 700 Stihl backpack blower two weeks ago and I have cut my work in half with my new blower! Seriously, what took me 2-days of blowing with the 320C only took 4-hours with my new BR 700. If you have lots of leaves like I do, it's definitely worth paying a little more for extra horsepower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for snow I wanted a high capacity blower for snow removal. I had owned a small hand held blower for many years that worked fine for the few leaves I have, but was only effective in the lightest snow. I decided to upgrade to a backpack blower this winter and started with a Poulan Pro. It would start after several (or more) pulls in a warm garage, but outside in temperatures in the single digits and below, the air intake would ice up in a few minutes and it would die. This was a design issue and not a specific machine problem. I returned it and bought the BR700 after I found out that Stihl blowers had a cold weather setting for the air intake. I have never pulled the starting rope more that twice to start it. Cold temperatures do not bother it. I have used it at 15 below zero for well over an hour with excellence results. It moves fluffy snow of any depth. The limit on firm, packed drifts, made with 30+ mph winds seems to be about 4 inches. Overall, it far exceeded expectations. Since buying the BR700, I have not used a snow shovel or regular snow blower. It helps neighbor relations because I can clear a couple of inches of snow from a sidewalk at close to a normal walking pace. It takes nearly no time clean up a few of the neighbor’s sidewalks while I am doing mine. If you are trying to decide between models, bigger is better for snow removal. The Poulan Pro is a smaller machine and worked fair on snow when it was running, but not nearly as good as the larger BR700. The high capacity does not come with too much weight. My 60 year wife loves it and uses it more than I do. One interesting phenomena I have observed when using it around a building or vehicle where some snow may swirl around and get sucked in through the air intake of the blower. As the snowflakes or ice crystals go down the plastic tube at 200 mph, they generate a significant electrical charge that I can easily feel with my hand on the throttle through a heavy leather chopper mitt. As soon as the air clears and it is sucking in clean air again, the mild shock disappears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product, starts and runs very well I purchased this blower last fall and it's amazing the amount of leaves it will move effortlessly. I live in Iowa and I have actually used the blower more for blowing snow then leaves. I haven't picked up a snow shovel all year and this cleans it right down to the concrete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine - does what others can't You can't stop this thing. It blows piles of leaves around like they aren't even there. Wet or dry this machine will do the job and do it quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Ive had this blower about 5 months. Several large trees on my property and I mulch and bag them several time per season. This blower is more than I need, but go big or go home! I would expect a blower of this power to be heavy, and it is, but for the power it has I think its rather light. I used it in 20-30 minute intervals with no problems. The padding is fine and the design provides comfort. It has fantastic power and starts within the first 3 pulls every time. I have no complaints on this blower at all. I like the adjustable tube for confined spaces and flower beds, and I very much like the adjustability of the throttle handle position. I'm searching for a con and really can't find one, but if I had one it would be the fuel tank. I wish there was a fuel window to check the level easier. The material is thin to see fuel level but its not easy to check. Also, the shape of the tank is a little bit off, so if you want to fill it up completely, you must tip the blower slightly to one side to fill it completely. This isn't a big deal, but its something that I would prefer to be changed. Overall, this is a fantastic tool that cut my cleanup time drastically and the blower is fun to use. It also does very well on snow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Blower But A Tad Below The Competition I will preface my review by disclosing that I've been in the lawn maintenance/landscape business for 20 years. I purchased the BR700 in October and used it extensively during fall clean ups this fall. Overall, the BR700 is an excellent blower. It puts out a fair amount of air, is light weight, is fuel efficient, and gets the job done. I even add the tip from the BR450 to help concentrate the air flow and that works well. If I had not tried any other blower, I'd see this is a phenomenal one to have. However, in my line of work, I also use other blowers. When comparing the BR700 to one of its closest rivals, the Redmax 8500/Husqvarna 580 (which I own), I find the BR700 slightly behind. You don't notice it when blowing regular every day things like grass clippings or light leaves but where I saw a big difference was during fall clean ups. The 8500 would get things leaves and debris out of shrubs and flower beds much more easily than the 700 which struggled a bit. Once the leaves were in the open, there wasn't much difference between the two. This could be because the 700 lacks the air speed of the 8500. Overall, however, the BR700 is a fine blower and good choice for both the professional or homeowner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine! Bought this to replace my 9 year old BR380. The 380 has been a great blower and never had a single issue and still runs like the day I bought it with a ton of hours on it. It is now moving on to my son for him to use and dad gets an upgrade. Out of the box the 700 started on the second pull. Once warmed up it starts first pull every time. Very comfortable and even though the specs list it at 3lbs heavier than my old 380 I can't tell a difference in weight. Run time is very good for a machine this size. I get an hour and a half on a tank. The power is unbelievable and moves leaves, sticks and debris far better. If you're used to a 2 stroke blower the 4 mix engine sounds more like half throttle so it feels a little strange at first. If you're in the market for a top of the line blower this is the one to get!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is ok , I like my 600 better but I have to Have the Best. First time out the orange throttle adjustment position snap came off. Had to buy a new one. I think the opening to to big. It needs to be smaller to concentrate on specific areas but I still love it. Hope it is as good as the 600 has been.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts easily and gets the job done My first leaf blower. Up until now I've been borrowing each year. Finally I made the plunge and found the the BR700 the best value from all the STIHL products. It starts easily and has great power. I'm very satisfied with my first STIHL purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, I recommend it very highly. Blower started easily and performed well. I have a lake property with several large oak trees, covered in rocks and is impossible to rake. My only complaint is the shoulder strap keeps falling off my shoulder, I suggest a chest strap to hold the shoulder straps together. Overall, I recommend it very highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power This thing will blow u away. I mean leaves. Wet leaves. Moved big rocks even up to 3 inches. Major air flow. I've even used it for snow removal as it just had the power. I must mention I always carry a smaller blower in left hand to help direct leaves or snow. My only complaint is short pull string. If ur the boss like me then not a problem but if u have employees I'm guessing they will pull it out eventually. Could be at least 4 feet longer. If u have employees you know what I'm talking about as they always have to pull to end of string.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a blower! I have 3 acres with over 100 trees. Leaves are always a problem in the fall. This monster makes it much easier. Although it is expensive it is worth it! Very pleased. It is what I would call very quiet and starts like a dream.
